I have a pin that is dated 1983 with the quote on it that says, “1983-Save the Huntridge”…Folks you are being hustled by a shyster property owner who doesn’t give a crap about the community…He is using his children as fronts for his greed.  What are you saving?  The sign?  Certainly not the building…The owner has had the electricity turned off for at least five years, it is a total disaster…Has he let anybody inside his building?  No, he uses his property for large truck repair and gets mucho $$$ for his cell tower on his property.  Everybody has to make a living, but you will be feeding the beast if you get used by this PUTZ.  Please, get real, you are being hustled by the man who knows those of local history have the desire to save memories.  Do some research and find out why this mans requests have been turned down by the City of Las Vegas…He sells schlock furniture and that is what he is–shyster, schlockman, millionaire who wants the get $$$$ to do what?  Answer is, do nothing; put $$$$$ in his pocket and laugh at the suckers, once and again.

Article was sent to me and I cannot understand who is doing the financing of the renovation to the rather dismal looking Sahara Hotel…Check it out and see if you get the feeling the US Gov is throwing $$$ into the project.  Immigrant financing to the max if it is true.  $$$$ begat $$$.  I don’t remember any poor immigrants from Persia (Iran) that came to the United States in the 80′s…but then again, I did not live in Beverly Hills.

Personally I don’t think anything is going to happen that is thrilling….Betcha Carl “I can” Ichan is going to have something to do with the property….Time will tell.

LAS VEGAS–CITY COUNCILMAN BOB (ANYTHING FOR ATTENTION & $’S) COFFIN IS FULL OF BS!!!!

There is a little park in Vegas, older area, called the Circle Park; it is on Maryland Parkway just South of Charleston Blvd.  Homeless, drunks and other discarded humans use to hang out and sleep under the trees and once in a while nasty attitudes would erupt.  Beautify Vegas came around a few years ago; removed the drunks and homeless, fancied the park up and tried to make it children friendly.  Did not work, closed the park down and there it sat.  Councilman Bob Coffin used its closing for a photo-op and said the park would be open on weekends, restrooms opened, water works open for the kids area only.  Park is not open, but they are going to have a music festival there this weekend.  It is in an older residential neighborhood, really no parking at the small park (20 spaces) 1 restroom and they are going to have vendors, music and performance art.  Yeah for it to happen, but honey nobody is prepared.  Marshalls office and police will only appear if needed.  Is there going to be some sort of security?  No response from the production end.

Don’t want to rain on the parade, but it was not handled properly and the notification to the neighborhood was not properly done Mr. Coffin….$$$$, thought you would be something different to this community, I was wrong.  Who do you represent Mr. Coffin?

LILI TOMLIN–FABULOUS!!!

Saw Ms Tomlin at the Orleans Showroom in Las Vegas, NV last night–she did not miss a beat and is right on with her observations.  We laughed so hard, her characters from the past, present and just Lili. were piss in your pants funny.  I know she is at least 70 years of age and has the vitality of being ageless.  The question posed to the audience was this, “Do you know why man evolved to being in an upright position?  Simple, so he could have a free hand to masturbate”.  She was so right on and full of life; she is in my opinion an American Icon.   She did her characters and entertained us for  almost two hours.  Bottled water, a chair, something that looked like 3 stairs, sound effects, and some visuals on a screen behind her.  That is it, Miss Lili (ageless observer) Tomlin, you are the best!!!!!

LAS VEGAS, NV–TRAFFIC TICKETS APLENTY–FILL UP THE EMPTY CITY COFFERS

I don’t mind paying the traffic ticket I received early morning, predawn, on my way to the hills to run the dogs.  Now that I set the scenario, let me tell you what I am pissed about.  Got stopped, going to fast in a 25 mile an hour zone, did not try to talk or weasel my way out of it.  I had to leave the car because the dogs did not care to have two policemen approach the car from either side with hands on their guns.  That alone with me screaming at the police to let me get out of the car, because of the dogs were not going to allow any transfer of information at close range; that was done and the dogs are alive.

Policeman said I was going 42 miles an hour in a 25 mile an hour zone…Here is the problem; this is the Cop talking to me, “I will only write you up for going 5 miles over the limit”, I said “Thanks”.  I was amazed at the high-tech equipment he had on his bike and he was pumped up to tell me about it.  Enough about that, I get my ticket and read over it and the amount of speed that was on the ticket was 42 miles an hour.  I looked at him and reminded him of his telling me he was only going to put my speed at,  “5 miles above the limit”,  His face turned red and told me to go to court and the Judge would reduce the fine, just for going to court.

Seven days later. I call up Municipal Court to garner information on how much the ticket was going to be, check this out, amount of the ticket will be  $205, but the clerk said it “Would not get points.”  I don’t give a shit about points, phuque that shit, I am going to Court.  I don’t care if I have to waste the day, I am going to court and face the judge with a sworn, notarized statement that the Policeman was going to write me up for going “5 miles over the limit.”  My partner was in the car with the dogs and she heard what the Cop said.  I’m glad I have the time to see if the $ amount can be reduced.  Worse that happens, if they allow I will make $50 monthly payments with some interest involved.  Here’s hoping something good comes out of this experience.

I have over a month before I go to court; a month to be furious with the BS of it all.  I’m not complaining about the ticket, just the lie and BS that goes around the quick $ fix. Will fill you in on the results of the court appearance and hopefully the reduction of the amount I have to pay.

Off to run the dogs and then spend the morning swimming with the canines.  By 10:AM the dogs are passed out for the day.  Yeah, I can get things done.

Update:  Doesn’t matter what I had to say–$205 and so be it.  Oh well, I tried.

SO MANY HOMES IN FORECLOSURE IN VEGAS–WHAT THE BANKS ARE NOT TELLING YOU

Homes are still in foreclosure and banks are not taking control of the foreclosed homes–in fact they are begging tenants to stay in their homes….How bout that, pay your utilities and camp out in your foreclosed home.  I know people who have not paid their mortgage for close to 2 1/2 years and they are still in their homes.  Check this out; they can save $’s and when their home goes up for public auction they can have a beard purchase the home at below what they owe and well below what the market value is of their home, or find a better home to get into. Get smart folks, phuque those who phuqued you over and play their game….Banks really don’t want to let go of what is really vacant in this town and honey, there are many homes that originally went for over $400,000 being auctioned off for $180,00-$185,00.  (Really, the true value of the homes)  That is what I consider a saving.  Homes that are well-built, and in good locations. Be careful of the hidden costs and step up play the game well and those that purchase should be content.  So says the Guru of Vegas.

Oh well, maybe the people from Oklahoma or the Joplin Missouri area can use the FEMA $’s to purchase their dream home in the desert.

MAYORS RACE IN LAS VEGAS=CHRIS GIUNCAIGLIANI VS OSCAR’S WIFE

Chris (I can’t pronounce her last name) Giuncaigliani vs Caroline (my husband is the current Mayor) Goodman whom will I vote for?  I like Chris!!!!  She is local, does her own bidding, shows she knows what she is talking about and is not afraid to take a stand and follow through.  I know Caroline is a good person, respected in the community but she was pushed into the Mayors race because the boys in this town do not like Chris.  It is almost what the good old boys of Hollywood thought about Barbara Striesand; they thought she did not know her place.  (Phuque them also)

Caroline was a good poker player and yes she and a few other wealthy woman started the Meadows School–so what?  What has she done in the Las Vegas proper?  She is running on her husbands backside and not what she can do for the City of Las Vegas.

I’m voting for Chris and even though it is a figure-head job and mostly PR–I don’t want Mr. Gin Mans wife as Mayor!!!!!

Update:  Goodman’s name is a winner…Okay now that the race is over let us see if the development of non Casino revenue will continue and make Las Vegas something besides a tourist town.  Downtown Arts District is happening and the energy is wonderful.

SAHARA HOTEL–LAS VEGAS–CLOSING–MY MEMORIES

I was but a child in 1953 and my parents took us on an adventure to Las Vegas, Nevada.  I don’t remember what car we were in but it was a journey to get to Vegas from Los Angeles at that time.  My brother and I amused ourselves. playing license plate games, alphabetical geography and other sorts of somewhat brain stimulating games.  (So we thought)

We got to Vegas, drove down what was the Strip and landed a  fancy looking motel, it was the Sahara.  We had our room on the 2nd floor behind the pool, what a pool; it was huge from an eight year olds perspective.  Got up to the room, removed  whatever clothes we had on and our parents took us to the pool.  Two sets of diving boards, regular and high dive board, we were in heaven.  My father had gathered up the pool boys and women, towel boys and life guards and had a group discussion on what I was to learn later was, “Watch the kids, nothing is to happen to them.”  Our parents hung around us for a few hours and then we were in the hands of the pool people.  Things were fine until I decided to chase my brother and ran through the glass doors on the ground floor going to the rooms.  Really, just plowed through the double glass doors and left shattered glass in the wake of my contact with the doors.

No problem, bruised nose, no blood, off to the restroom, and then back to the pool to resume our antics.  Our parents came back, nothing was made of the incident, the pool people were toked extremely well and that was the beginning our adventure at the Sahara Hotel.   I noticed lots of handshakes when we went places; shows, dinner and so forth.  Later I found out that in the handshake there was folded $’s, apparently that was all that was needed for reservations–lessons learned.

LAS VEGAS–ONE STEP FORWARD AND FIVE STEPS BACKWARDS–SLEAZE IS A SLEAZE IS A SLEAZE

“ARTS DISTRICT”.  Vegas wants to draw people to downtown and it is happening, diverse, interesting art and new lounges that are comfortable without the hype of the STRIP.   Vacant lot no big thing, you park there.  Private towing company decides to be beyond greed and contacts the out-of-state owner of the property and the both of them greed it up.  Put signs up that day and those that parked in the vacant lot were booted and some towed away.  Mayor Oscar opens his mouth after raving about what he has done for downtown Vegas says, “They should have read the signs.”  What BS!!!  Wanting to draw folks to downtown and now you screw em.  Out of town owner is making $ on his not to cared for property and hooked up with the towing company and is making $’s off the 100 cars that were towed.  More or less $300 to get the car released; you do the math—phuque em!!!!  These people made an effort to enjoy the downtown and now you know they won’t be back.

Make it easy for people to spend the $, not just the big casino game.  Just like the monorail that goes to the STRIP, nowhere else–how bout from the airport to downtown—no, no, no, why have the conventioneers and tourists go away from the STRIP.  Monorail is in bankruptcy and we have to pay for the BS, like always.

What took so long for the Review Journal (local newspaper) to shed some light on what happened on ‘First Friday’?  This shit happened 12 days ago; now there is something written about the character of the tow company and the attack on someone who had the camera viewing the on going game .

Those that were booted and towed–take it to Small Claims Court–showing the BS about the signs not being up the previous day and sleaze of some tow truck company on North Nellis Blvd. and the owner of the vacant property.  Make more of a stink, stand up and fight the BS!!!!

Pissed off to say the least.

Just a little madness to the mix…John Wayne Gacey’s art work is going to be on display and sales come September– Who is John Wayne Gacey you ask?  Do you remember Jeffrey Dhommer?  Similar men who tortured, and killed young men.  Difference is Jeffrey ate parts of his victims and Gacey buried at least 25 of them under his home.  Law was passed after Gacey’s art (really now) was bought and the criminal could not profit from the sale of said art.  Bottom line in September 2011 Gacey’s art will be shown in Vegas at the Arts Factory–Sin City Gallery and other venues inside the Arts Factory.  Discussions will be part of the exhibit as to why his art should be displayed and now sold.  Private collector who befriended Gacey while he was in prison before his death has chosen to let go his treasured mementos from his hustle.

We have a Mob Museum, death and dying around us why not exhibit Gacey’s so-called art and donate a certain percentage to the non profits who could benefit?  So be it, the owner of the Arts Factory is donating $’s to certain non profits—Yeah Wes!!!!

Update:  Tow company was found at fault.  They are being sued for what the owners of the cars had to pay to get their cars back; something like $304 per car.  It was an illegal tow and the boys got their dicks dirty and will have to pay up.  Good going Las Vegans–stand up and fight.
