Nearly Normalized

Barack Obama is going to be the next President of the United States of America—yes the “times they are a changin”.  The best is yet to come!!!

DNC did well, raucous, wordy, thoughtful and fun…Democracy at its best, no hiding not your lillywhite cleanliness.  It was exciting and why make it cut and dry?  Our country and we cannot be afraid to speak our minds.  Go Democrats–not behind closed door shall we remain free.  It was a pleasure to watch and hear the other side put it down–what are they putting down?  Freedom to disagree and have lively discussions; not the with me or against me mentality.  Republicans are going down and we will have a participatory nation again, not just for the mighty few!!!!  Vote and make your voice heard!!!

The torch has been passed to this nation-get on the train with that light, it is moving your way, don’t derail it, hop on in and make the way to the future and leave that dead old crap behind.  “Yes yes we can can, I know we can, yes we can can.”

The man not the “boy” speaks his mind and many old white men get fearful.  Reverend Billy Graham could see many Presidents and have the ear of many and he wasn’t always a kind and gentle spirit…”Jews are not qualified”, was one of his quotes, qualified for what?  The honorable  Pat Robertson (in jest only) has spouted hate and indignities for years, and the Hage PUTZ (who has McCain’s ear) says New Orleans deserved what it got–why?  The Catholics and the degradation of the non Christians is his hate message.  Reverend Wright speaks his mind, doesn’t call for the overthrow of the government, kill the Anglos (trying to be nice), kill the queers, or preach hate.  He has his observations, has lived the life and knows what the USA has done.  He is not saying anything new.  AIDS rumor has been around since the beginning.  It had been presented as “get the non breeding queers” and look what happened.  The gay population was and is sort of a wealthy community and it was gaining politically, so why not off them?  It spread to the “straight population”, IV drug users, the down low men and straight women.  It was thought to have been a calculated adventure, but oops it got out of control; so much for the control experiments in death.  What about what our government did with the syphilis and gonorrhea experiments with African American men?  What did it do? Our government let people die because, what society was going to gain outweighed the lives of those men. Don’t get on Reverend Wright, he was a military man, fought in the Viet Nam adventure and is taking care of his flock.  Get some tough skin, sometimes the truth hurts but Obama is still the one no matter how Mr. Rove, Cheney Man and all the dumpy old white men feel.  Enough, off to run the dogs.  Have a day you will remember, be kind and “Laugh and the whole world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.” 

I do not have to say anymore except that it was finally done right with the voting for the delegates to the National Democratic Convention.  You know something has to put a little zinger to the situation–Thomas & Mack Center; where UNLV plays Basketball (men’s), concerts and the NRF (National Rodeo Final or is it NFR-National Finals Rodeo-one in the same) call the place home.  Today of all days they are refinishing (resurfacing) the basketball court, it stunk to high heaven, plus I feel a little loaded at the same time.  I felt like a true huffer who was in the otra lada.  Getting back to the Thomas & Mack, it was a smoothly run finish to a hectic few months.  Make a change for the better and get Obama nominated!!!!

The foibles of stupidity are rampant.  No excuses here, I want the respectful, intelligent human being who goes by the name Obama to be the next President of the United States of America.  Key phrase in the last sentence is “united;” we can make it happen and let those old beyond years, schmucks take a back seat to the future.  Off to run the dogs, maybe go down to the lake and enjoy this day, because the light is shinning and the clouds will disappear!!!  Make it happen and share the light.

Sometimes the ignorance is so apparent all I can do is laugh.  Mr. Macho Man cannot and will not vote for a woman to be President of the United States of America.  Barefoot and pregnant is still  the mentality of some of them; they don’t see the future and want to desperately hold on to the past.  African American as President, my of my what a dilemma to be faced with.  Instead of cheering the differences and the quality of bringing this country together they are crying in their beer and spouting hate.   It is the youth of America, it is your turn to make the move, we are of many differences, but the sameness is, we are Americans; let’s do it and see with all the differences we are one.  Make it happen and please put these tired old white men with bad and balding hair to rest.  Clinton or Obama or Obama and Clinton–either way it will be a better world when either one them get to be Prez!!!  I can visualize discussions, give and takes instead of the weapons of mass destruction and fear.  Off for a hike with the dogs.

I have shit showered and shaved and I am ready to Rock-n-roll at the convention.  There is so much excitement here, it is just amazing that the energy is for the the grander political spectrum them the ordinary BS that leads this state.  This has been a me, me, and only me state, that whines when the truth is told.   The influx of many has changed the color and mindset of this state:  YEAH, YEAH and another YEAH!!!  It is time to show ourselves that we care beyond the bell ringing of slots.  Let the big boys play the boys game but everyday people are making the change for the better.  Will fill you in latter on the events of the day, I think it is going to be a long one.  Stay warm and “LOVE THE ONE YOU’RE WITH.”

It is 9:30 AM– it is raucous and everybody is looking for their spot–lots of local Democratic elected reps are here and the mood is so energetic, lots of politics, delegates and alternates getting moved around, lots of loud talking and fun.  We will see what happens, people still looking for parking spaces, you know this had to happen on the STRIP and I don’t think it is going to be quick happening.  I am prepared to spend the day if needed.  Democracy is not an easy sport, get in and make it a fun sport not only for balding, white, old men.  Yeah, can you feel it!!!  Later.

11:10–Fire Marshals came, to many people in the room.  Delegates only, guests and alternates moved to another room.  Congressperson Shelly Berkley did some good talking.  It is happening, will continue later.  This town was not prepared for the participation, the guests and alternates are in another room, no TV feed, nothing, just another room, in Ballys.  Locals know this convention should have been off the STRIP, at Coachman Center, not the unreality of the STRIP on Saturday or any other day.  Tell me why it is at Ballys?  You know, leave a few dollars here and there before one leaves the hotel, what crap.  No matter how difficult it is made to be, the delegates will get it done.

 11:50–People are getting frustrated–no fooling.  The paper work was not handled properly from the caucus to the convention.  Those that are delegates or thought they were delegates to the convention; some of their names were left off or never put on the list.  Oh, oh, people are getting frustrated; people are still standing in line to get in to the convention.  Democracy how it rings so loudly, why should it run smoothly?  Humans are involved, take a deep breath and commit; otherwise you will feel defeated and that is not going to happen. 

1:08 The first seating vote has occurred.  The opportunity is taken during the counting to work on the crowd problems.  (Key word in last sentence was crowd; not for T & A but the Clark County Democratic Convention)  More  rounds of votes and seating’s will happen throughout the day.  

I am done for the day.  Gave what I could to the County, will not participate in the State of Nevada Convention in Reno but I know we will work  locally and get the best Democratic candidate into the office of President of the United States of America!!!  Off for a late run with the dogs, they are frantic and ready to go.

DEBACLE!!!  That is what the outcome to the convention was.  It will have to be done again, hopefully soon.  No delegates were given to either Obama or Clinton from the County of Clark in the State of Nevada.  It was not a pretty sight to have so many people put in their time and effort for naught, but again who said Democracy was easy.  It will happen again and hopefully it was a learned experience; don’t be cheap and use the people that know and not the cronies.  Life in the big city where the dogs bark at strangers.  Get off the Strip and go to Cashman Center, easy parking and lots of space.

DNC has requested that Clark County clean up its act or risk the loss of delegates to the national convention.  This seems to be in the risk factor of Florida and Michigan; it is going to be interesting.  McCain on the other side has got some explaining to do.  I really want to know what part he had in the “Lincoln Savings” debacle, and if he still has property acquired in the sleazy business?  Sunday morning, off into the cloudy day to run the dogs and clear my mind if possible. 

Friday March 7th.  Clark County is going to try the Democratic Convention again; it will be in April and at the Thomas & Mack Center, plenty of parking and lots of room for noise.  Let us see if it can be pulled off with the least amount of hassle.  Will check it out and do my duty as we go forward.

Americans don’t own our country, what a surprise.  Somehow the way we have lived is showing the depletion of ownership of our own country.  All the scams, loans and BS the government has been doing, can you blame the everyday Americans for practicing what is being done by those who supposedly know better?  We were suppose to leave things better for our children and so on, what happened?  Greed, more greed and more greed; spend, spend and more spending.  What do we have to show for it?  New I-Pods, new this and new that; our country has not improved the infrastructure, education, food safety or medical care, this is suppose to be the “Great Society?”  For the last eight years all I have heard is “no new taxes, fear, more fear and more $ for our military industrial complex.”  Make the change folks, the society is changing and we need a intelligent leader who will listen and we need to participate in this so called democracy.  Get rid of those same old same old schemers that have been around for many years, I don’t want to see balding, false teethed critters telling me what to do with my body.  End of triad, off to run the dogs.  McCain is a tired old warrior, let him rest but don’t let him be President of this nation!!

The torch has been passed don’t let it flicker out, keep it lit and go for it.  The time is now, the change is “gonna cum”,  get out and express yourself for we as Americans can make a difference, can you feel it!!!! Let’s do it and make ourselves proud.  The SOS has passed and the time is now!!!  Just an after thought–Romney sucks!!
