“BODY OF WAR”–DOCUMENTARY BY PHIL DONAHUE

Movie was on the Sundance Channel last night–it was a heavy.  Young man went to war for his Country, was lied to; does that sound familiar?  Afghanistan here I come, no, no the young man was sent to Iraq; totally not prepared for the situation.  He was trained at FT Hood, what desert training was available at FT Hood?  Nada, nothing, zero is the answer.  He was shot just five days into duty and paralyzed from below his chest downward.  Protecting a convoy, that was his assigned duty…Open truck, no protection, ambushed from the roofs of buildings–sitting ducks and it was over.  He is part of the “Iraqi Veterans against the War”, it is not like he was a pacifist and against all wars, he wanted to serve his country well and was lied to about this war, like everybody else.   See the documentary and feel the anguish that all around are feeling.  Lies, lies and more lies of why we went to war and are still pretending it is for our own protection.   Senator Richard Byrd, the orator from the South; was against it from the get go and how Americans go hoodwinked and the constitution was ignored for greed.  End of rant, see the movie and know the change is here and stay involved…
