FOOTBALL: BYU LOSES TO UNRANKED ARIZONA!!!
BYU trying for respectability lost its chance when unranked University of Arizona with a uninspiring record beat the Cougars of BYU thus making the Cougars a big oops. (Joseph Smith would not be proud of the boys last night) Let us see what UTAH does against The Crimson Tide, my few dollars that I wish to bet are going to be on Alabama. I don’t care what they say about the Mountain West Conference, unless you play some non conference games against good teams, the ranking system sucks. USC in my opinion will dominate PENN STATE in the Rose Bowl. Have no idea why I went off on college football, probably because it is more fun to watch then the pro game. Sunday in Vegas; frost on the car windows, off to run the dogs and be grateful for health and a roof over our heads. For all those in difficult situations, it will get better. Happy Holidays to all and may the change be permanent as long as permanent is.

LAST CHANCE RANCH–IT FILLS THE NEED
The name of the ranch says it all. I have written before about how the wild and domesticated castaways find their place in the sun. It is a haven and I am amazed each time I visit; you would have to envision 40 acres of desert that has blossomed into the abundance of food for all; fruit and nut trees for humans and all four legged creatures. Apples, peaches, nectarines, grapes, pecans, almonds and much more. Rabbits, (jacks and cottontail) coyotes, birds of all kinds, cats, dogs, horses and something else will probably show up today. I had left my dogs there to vacation while I was out of town and you know they were in hog heaven (they told me)…Adios amigos, off for a swim.
In addition: Let me describe Pathos so you can get an idea of “I died and went to heaven” thinking. My friend got a call from her vet and asked if she could help? “BLM, adopted horse, left out in the desert to fend for himself and now is on the verge of dying, can you help?” The horse was loaded on the trailer and dropped off at “Last Chance Ranch”…I wish I had the pictures of what this horse looked like, skin and bones and weighing 800 lbs (maybe)–that is walking death. He was to weak to eat so he got food through quite a large looking syringe, he shit sand for a week, he was standing with difficulty but had the desire to live. 1 1/2 years later the big, handsome, dapple looking boy is like your best friend. The other horses (all mares) go into the large corral to run and frolic but not Pathos he has free run of the place, just like a young boy constantly exploring his surroundings. True character is Pathos; goofy and just knows he has made it to heaven. Call his name and he comes, when it is time for him to go to his stall, he does it willingly, no lead–just time to eat and there he goes. To me he is a big gentle giant who weighs close to 1800-2000 lbs. Yeah for “Last Chance Ranch”, I feel like it is Noah’s Ark in the desert. I know sometimes when humans don’t quite get it, whatever it is, the animals break it down to simplicity; they don’t mind phuque themselves!!!

BE YOUR OWN HERO
Hero’s can be bought and sold, be your own hero and you don’t have to answer to anybody but yourself…Do it right, be proud and as Bette Midler says “Phuque em, if they can’t take a joke.” There is so much BS and greed who do you have but yourself and those that you love and are loved by you? Enough, off for adventure in the Mountains. A little side trip about an adventure in the Arizona desert; myself and the pack of dogs went for an early morning walk outside of Kingman Arizona, my friends sanctuary called “Last Chance Ranch.” Being the desert you know the dogs might get into cactus and other plant life that seems to cling and insert itself so one takes along a hemostat to pull the spikes out if the dogs don’t. This morning there was something else I had to take with me, a 38 caliber pistol. Why, one would ask do I need a pistol and a hemostat? Rattlesnakes, they are moving and getting into their Spring routine after taking it easy for the Winter. It was a lucky day for us all, no rattlers, no cactus spikes and good morning adventure in the Arizona Desert.

RHODES–LAND DEVELOPER–SLEAZY
Mr. Rhodes is sleazy-his homes are shabbily constructed and he has left the Las Vegas area and is now the owner of many thousands of acres in Arizona. Arizona be alert. He is building in the rural area of Kingman Arizona, the land was cheap and he is cheaper in his construction methods. He will put wells in for water, but only go deep enough to be approved, not any deeper. The water will last about a year, dry up and then the owners will have to invest quite a hefty sum to drill a new well for water. The man is corrupt and has the $’s to buy off those that are on the take. The new construction of a highway bypassing the Hoover Dam makes the communities in Arizona, more or less bedroom communities for Las Vegas. Wake up and drink the water, because it isn’t going to last. Mr. Rhodes was involved with $’s for permit building schemes here in Vegas, wanting to build in a protected environment–locals stood up to him and he lost the game. Greed is greed no matter how one looks at it. Ask the dethroned Clark County Commissioner Erin Kinney, what Mr. Rhodes is about; oh yeah, find her, she is in jail, Federal Prison, not County or State lock ups. Remember, when you see Rhodes Development, be aware of the sleazy factor of this builder. We are in a severe drought here in the desert; that is why it is called a desert, but no, no, Mr. Rhodes wants to put a golf course in the area of Golden Valley. He is so full of himself, don’t let him get away with the same crap he pulled and is still pulling in the Vegas Valley. Please don’t get bought off, you will lose in the beginning, middle and the end of this scenario .
UPDATE: December 21st, 08. Arizona succumbed to the greed factor of golf courses in the development of the planned community in the Golden Valley area near Kingman Arizona. Sleazy Rhodes must of paid off the folks; we are in a drought in the Southwest and the hands out for some action won the battle, but let us see how the war goes. I told you before he is not a quality builder, con man and SLEAZE. I’m sure he will build nice golf courses with almost water saving landscape, but how will the homes be built? Dollars to doughnuts their will be problems in the quality of construction material and the actual building of the homes. Good luck to those that think they have a good investment, I know the trip to Vegas from Golden Valley will be lessened in the time factor, the new bridge for commuters over Lake Mead, Hoover Dam but quality of life means a little more to me than convenience. Adios and keep your eyes open for “Rhodes The Sleaze”
Update-4/10/2009–Mr. Rhodes ‘Sleaze Bag’ has declared some sort of bankruptcy. Greedy, slipshod builder who thought he could buy his way; oh well we will watch the outcome of his financial management.
