COX COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS-CABLE- SUCKS BIG TIME!!!!
August 13, 2008
We are trying to make things easier for ourselves in our home and home business. Lots of researching bringing all our systems over to cable-TV, computer and phones lines both business and home. What a phuqing experience this is becoming and it is not a nice one. COX, it subs out the work and you have the geeks come in and hook the cable lines up to the phones; no problem one day it is the residential service and the next it is the business lines–okay so far. Low and behold both lines are on the residential number and it has taken two days to get it straightened out and it is still not happening. Fax doesn’t work, business line doesn’t work and the word I am getting is “portal”. Portal what? I am losing business and the tech person says I have to talk to sales and the sales person tries to explain, but it sounds like double talk to me. Tech guy says it can take up to 72 hours before the other companies “release the service”–was not told this when we inquired and signed on. Oh, I forgot, telephone #’s that we have had for many years are not in use at this time; we have to wait till they get “portaled”. This is just a rant and I am pissed off to the max at COX!!! Please tell me I am not alone and if you have had similar experiences with COX COMMUNICATIONS let me know so we can be pissed off together.
Thank you for reading this rant.
Update: COX guy just came by and said everything is hooked up right and yes we do have to wait out the “portal” game. Check this out, he told me a customer was waiting six days for his telephone long distance provider to let go of his toll free #. I asked, “Is that a common happening?” His response was with the roll of his eyes, “Yes.” I remember that crap happening between the long distance companies, Quest, MCI and ATT, why should it be any different now? Silly me, I thought things had changed; more they seem to change the same shit happens again. Thank you again, going to watch some Olympics–team handball–just kidding. (what a thrilling sport)
New day, nothing happening in the world of communications–all sales, BS and not a follow up with COX, the big question WHY?
12:25 PM Wednesday as of this moment COX is saying it is my fault the telephones are not working properly-do I believe that? I’ll take responsibility on my end, but let’s get it straighten out on the COX end and complete the “portal” game. Still no direct service to the business lines; going on 48 hours. (reads like a movie or a cop show)
Saturday, August 16!!!!!! Yes, the phones are up and running. 4-5 days of BS but the young contract workers came out, BSd with COX and something that should have taken fifteen minutes to do, took over an hour. COX, it is done and if you can afford down time, do it. It is such a phuque up, sales is sales is sales and the follow up is zero unless you talk to the masses of ”I don’t know and soon.” I will stop whining and be grateful that it is done and we can resume the sanity mode in our abode. Have a fabulous day and I wish Tyson Gay had done better in his semi-final heat in the 100 meter dash. (Go Tyson–heal that hamstring)
Check this out it is September 13th and Cox Communications still do not own our toll free telephone number. It is a game between MCI and Cox, who is going to win? I guess you play the game an sometimes it goes to extra innings, I think we are in that phase.
